Discussions on Hurricane Preparedness is a webinar series hosted by Iteris, ITS Carolinas and ITS Florida that focuses on planning, operations and recovery strategies surrounding hurricane season.

Live webinar: September 24, 2020 @ 10:30 am ET | 9:30 am CT

The series of discussions will bring industry thought leaders from a number of state transportation agencies together to discuss topics around planning and operating during major storms, technology used to support planning and operations, as well as the journey to getting back to normal.

In the first part of the series, experts from the Georgia, Alabama, Virginia and North Carolina departments of transportation will discuss the critical tactics and strategies used before, during and after hurricanes. Many of these strategies were tailored for each region’s unique needs, but with so many agencies being impacted with the same challenges – whether flooding, evacuations, or keeping the public informed, there will be valuable takeaways for all attendees.

You will hear:

  • First-hand accounts of hurricane preparedness strategies and techniques

  • How cross-agency data is used to plan evacuations

  • What tools are being used to determine evacuation routes

  • Specific challenges related to COVID-19
