VantageLink: Remote Cabinet Control Made Simple

2 min. Read • Posted 11/13/2025 by Caroline Cohen

Iteris' new VantageLink® solution is redefining how agencies manage their traffic cabinets by introducing remote connectivity, real-time monitoring, and smarter maintenance tools.

Traditionally, maintaining traffic cabinets has required physical visits for inspections, updates, or troubleshooting. VantageLink introduces a new standard by giving agencies access to their cabinets from anywhere, allowing them to identify and resolve issues faster, without ever stepping foot on site.

Real-Time Monitoring and Remote Access

VantageLink’s cloud-based dashboard gives agencies life access to cabinet performance and intersection activity. From any connected device, traffic teams can view intersection phase status, monitor detector activity, and check sensor data – including voltage, current, temperature, and humidity. The platform enables remote cycling of cabinet power outlets and supports quick, one-click access to controllers and cameras.

In addition to monitoring, VantageLink enables agencies to remotely edit controller settings, update databases, and manage cabinet assets through a centralized interface. Technicians can also schedule work orders, set maintenance reminders, and track historical data trends. When urgent issues arise, the system sends alerts via email and text, ensuring on-call staff are notified immediately. This remote capability increases responsiveness and improves operational efficiency across the board.

Proactive Maintenance

VantageLink is designed to move agencies from reactive repair to proactive maintenance. The platform continuously monitors cabinet health and sends real-time alerts for issues such as power outages, UPS status changes, cabinets going into flash, constant calls, and abnormal detections. These live notifications allow agencies to quickly address problems before they impact signal timing or safety. By identifying trends across intersections, VantageLink helps teams prioritize repairs, allocate resources more efficiently, and schedule preventative maintenance based on real system conditions. This proactive approach not only reduces downtime but also extends the lifespan of critical field infrastructure.

Cabinet-level insights and alerts also help agencies better coordinate with contractors, document maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with operational standards. Instead of sending crews out on rounds, agencies can direct field teams where they are needed.

As agencies continue to modernize, VantageLink offers a practical and scalable solution that meets operational challenges while preparing for tomorrow’s connected mobility needs. With its remote in-cabinet monitoring and maintenance, VantageLink helps agencies deliver safer, smarter, and more efficient signal operations.
