This week, Forbes sat down with Iteris chief marketing officer Joe Boissy to learn more about the company's smart cities vision:

By 2050, the world’s population looks set to approach almost 10 billion people, with an increasing number of those people being concentrated in cities and other urban centers.

More people in cities means a growing need for advanced digital solutions to manage and serve those populations – hence the race for cities to become “smart”.
