Iteris has had offices in Nebraska since 2004, and has maintained close working relationships with local transportation agencies, teaming up to provide innovative transportation solutions for Omaha, Council Bluffs, Lincoln and other nearby areas. Iteris’ local projects have covered the entire transportation life cycle, from planning and design to integration, operation and maintenance. In our most recent project in the region, we have been assisting the City of Omaha with the complex planning, design and deployment activities required to upgrade its ageing transportation system.

To highlight this work and learn more about Iteris’ solutions for smart mobility infrastructure management, the Midlands Business Journal spoke to Iteris’ John Albeck and Steven Garbe as part of a special edition covering innovations in the engineering profession.

The article, entitled “New tech supports environmental initiatives, increased safety”, highlights how over the past decade, Iteris and its consulting partners have worked closely with the city to make dramatic improvements to its transportation infrastructure, which has helped to reduce traffic problems while planning for future expansion, and readying the city for the advent of connected and automated vehicles.
