Iteris and Meritor WABCO to Release SafetyDirect's Integrated Driver Performance Reporting Capabilities at the American Trucking Association Management Conference

-- Next Generation SafetyDirect now available to Meritor WABCO's Trucking Fleet Customers --

Santa Ana, Calif. ? Iteris, Inc., a leader in the traffic management market that focuses on the application and development of advanced technologies, will officially release and demonstrate its second generation of the SafetyDirect™ Fleet Performance System at the 2010 American Trucking Association Management Conference in Phoenix, AZ.

Earlier this year, Iteris announced a strategic partnership with Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems to allow information captured by Meritor WABCO?s SmartTrac and OnGuard active safety systems to be available through Iteris? SafetyDirect. The companies have successfully completed a number of fleet evaluation installations, and are now releasing the solution to customers.

Iteris and Meritor WABCO fleet customers can now use SafetyDirect as a single point of access to monitor and synchronize driver performance data on braking, stability control, following distances, collision safety system braking, and lane-departure warnings for individual drivers as well as the entire fleet. In addition, active safety system characteristics, such as diagnostics information, can be automatically reported to fleet operations.

SafetyDirect uses information transmitted from the vehicle by the fleet?s onboard mobile communications system via leading telematic providers, such as Qualcomm and PeopleNet, to provide fleet operators with a comprehensive view of the entire fleet, as well as the ability to drill down to detailed information on individual drivers and events. With SafetyDirect, fleet managers can identify risky driver behavior and provide drivers with the training that the fleet managers deem appropriate to reinforce safe driving practices.

?I am delighted to release this integrated offering in partnership with an industry leader such as Meritor WABCO. This alliance is a testament to the industry?s validation of our SafetyDirect Fleet Performance System.? said Mr. Abbas Mohaddes, president and chief executive officer of Iteris. ?Iteris plans to expand market share through not only product development, but also through strategic alliances. With increased political and industry focus on improving driver safety, I believe this partnership will greatly expand our safety offering to a broader segment of the commercial truck market.?

?Iteris? SafetyDirect is a perfect complement to Meritor WABCO active safety and control systems for commercial vehicles,? stated Jon Morrison, president of Meritor WABCO. ?We are excited to release this integrated offering, providing data from Meritor WABCO?s SmartTrac and OnGuard active safety systems together with Iteris? lane-departure warning systems, allowing us to deliver a more comprehensive safety offering to our customers.?
