Iteris Delivers Next Generation 511 Traveler Information System to South Carolina
-“One-System-Fits-All” Features Several Options for Obtaining Personalized Traffic Information-
SANTA ANA, Calif. – July 1, 2013 -Iteris, Inc.,a leader in providing intelligent traffic management information solutions, launched South Carolina’s next generation 511 Traveler Information System. The three year contract to upgrade, operate, and maintain the State’s 511 Traveler information system was awarded to Iteris in January of this year.
The next generation system consists of a myriad of communication channels for information dissemination, including:
- State-of-the-art website (www.511sc.org)
- Mobile apps for both iOS and Android platforms
- Four regional Twitter feeds
- Enhanced Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR) software system
- Personalized email and/or text alerts delivering real-time traffic conditions
- Direct integration with the Georgia 511 system
The three-year contract, valued at approximately $2.5 million, includes two one-year options for ongoing operation and maintenance. The award strengthens Iteris' leadership position in511 traveler information systems,with the company currentlyoperating 17 systems nationwide and abroad.
