6.2 Lateral Collision Avoidance (User Service*)

The Lateral Collision Avoidance user service is specifically aimed at augmenting the vehicle operator’s ability to avoid collisions by first providing information, and second, if a crash situation is imminent, providing warnings and/or assuming temporary control of the vehicle. The service includes lane change/blind spot situation display collision warning and control, as well as lane/road departure warning and control.


User Service Requirements*:
6.2.0 ITS shall include a Lateral Collision Avoidance Service.
