7.2.1.1–Read Parking Lot Vehicle Payment Data (Pspec*)
This process shall be responsible for requesting the data from the parking lot payment device being carried on-board the vehicle and used as the traveler card / payment instrument being read. If there is no vehicle payment device or the data it contains cannot be properly read, the process shall send a message for the vehicle to pull in for output by another process, and send a request to other processes to obtain an image of the vehicle. If there is no entry time data on the vehicle payment device, then the process shall re-write this data plus the number of the entry lane onto the vehicle payment device, so that it can be used as the mechanism for charging for the use of the parking lot. If the entry time is present, the process shall combine it with the vehicle characteristics, e.g., size, type, etc. to form the data upon which the parking lot payment transaction can be based, and send it to another process.This Pspec is associated with the Parking Management Subsystem*.
