Shelter Providers (Terminator*)

This terminator provides information about the shelters that open with the threat of a disaster and are operated and maintained until the threat has passed. This terminator may represent individual shelters if they have the capability to provide current information directly to ITS or it may represent a managing organization such as the American Red Cross that operates the shelters and collects and provides aggregate shelter information for a region.

  • emergency traveler information (Architecture Flow*) - Public notification of an emergency such as a natural or man-made disaster, civil emergency, or child abduction. This flow also includes evacuation information including evacuation instructions, evacuation zones, recommended evacuation times, tailored evacuation routes and destinations, traffic and road conditions along the evacuation routes, traveler services and shelter information, and reentry times and instructions.
