Location Data Source (Terminator*)

This terminator provides accurate position information. Systems which use GPS, terrestrial trilateration, or driver inputs are all potential examples of Location Data Sources. This terminator contains sensors such as radio position receivers (e.g. GPS) and/or dead reckoning sensors (e.g. odometer, differential odometer, magnetic compass, gyro, etc.). This terminator implies that some additional functionality associated with developing an absolute position is outside the system and will not be directly modeled by the logical or physical architecture representations of the system.

Terminator Interfaces Diagram

This is a context diagram for the entity Location Data Source Terminator that shows every architecture flow that this entity sends or receives, as defined in the National ITS Architecture. A complete list of all architecture flows shown on this diagram, is available under the Inputs/Outputs section on this page.
