Purpose

The Inland Empire Regional Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Architecture Project website was established to encourage easy access, timely review and use of the documents and materials by the wide audience of project stakeholders.  Project stakeholder feedback was invaluable in developing an ITS Architecture that reflects the transportation system vision for the Inland Empire.  This effort was funded through a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) grant to the City of Fontana, and the primary work effort was carried out through a contract with Iteris, Inc.

The Inland Empire Regional ITS Architecture was completed in June 2003.  The Final Report is available for viewing / downloading on the Deliverables page of this website.  Because the Final Report is fairly long (approximately 300 pages with all the appendices) it has been posted on this website in three separate files:  main body of the document, the Appendices (minus Appendix F) and Appendix F.

What's New?

Prompted by the development of the Southern California Regional ITS Architecture, at the direction of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), the Inland Empire Regional ITS Architecture was updated in June 2005.  The updates to the Inland Empire Architecture included upgrading the Turbo Architecture database from version 2.0 to version 3.0, as well as making sure that the two architectures are properly aligned.  To review the Southern California Regional ITS Architecture visit www.scag.ca.gov/its/.

A Technical Memorandum documenting the Inland Empire Regional ITS Architecture 2005 Update can be accessed on the Deliverables page of this website.  The Technical Memorandum itself is fairly brief.  However, two of the Attachments are fairly lengthy – 70 pages and 122 pages respectively.  The Update has been posted on this website in three separate files:  the main body of the Tech Memo with Attachments A, B and C, Attachment D and Appendix F.
