A new type of application was defined called "convenience" applications, alongside Safety, Mobility, and Environment. These applications are enabled by connected vehicle communications – such as commercial entities sharing information with customers or travelers using trusted connected vehicle communications to access information from internet based sources. While there are currently no such "convenience" applications in CVRIA this allows them to be defined in the future or to be created by users of the SET-IT software tool. The Glossary was also updated to better define applications, including the addition of the new "convenience" type and to explain better the role of support services such as infrastructure management, data distribution, or system monitoring in the delivery of connected vehicle applications.
